    THE UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the School of Law. The Dean serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the School of Law. The School is seeking a student-centered Dean who will bring intellectual leadership, strong management and interpersonal skills, and public relations and fundraising abilities to the institution. The Dean will serve an initial five-year term beginning July 1, 2018, and will report to the University’s Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.

    Successful candidates must have a Juris Doctor from an accredited institution and a scholarly record appropriate for an appointment at the rank of tenured full professor.     THE UNIVERSITY OF WYOMING COLLEGE OF LAW invites applications for a full-time faculty position. This position will be tenure-track with duties commencing in the fall of 2018. For this position, we are seeking an entry-level or pre-tenure lateral professor to direct the law school’s Defender Aid Clinic and teach some or all of the following: criminal law, criminal procedure, criminal adjudication, and/or special issues in criminal justice. The College of Law is particularly interested in applicants anchored in criminal practice, trial and appellate advocacy, and/or skills training.     The University of Illinois College of Law invites applications for a Clinical Professor to begin in July 2018. This is a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track position leading to the possibility of a presumptively renewable multi-year appointment. Depending on experience, the individual will be hired on the College’s clinical faculty track as a Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor.

    The person hired will be responsible for developing and directing a new clinic. The College will consider applicants from all clinical subject-matter areas, but it has particular interest in applicants with backgrounds in immigration, domestic violence/family law, consumer rights, or elder financial justice.

    The University of Connecticut School of Law invites applicants for an opening as a Clinical Instructor of Law serving as the William R. Davis Clinical Fellow, beginning in the summer of 2018.  This position will offer a practicing attorney with an interest in clinical teaching the opportunity to refine his or her teaching and supervisory skills while working together with experienced faculty members in a law school clinical program.  The Davis Fellow will work primarily in the Asylum and Human Rights Clinic, which represents clients who have suffered or fear persecution in their home countries and are seeking asylum in the United States.  Work may also involve other immigration-related clinical projects. 

    The fellow's duties will include planning and teaching clinic classes, supervision of clinic students’ casework, and some direct client representation.  The fellow will work closely with the Clinic’s faculty director, and will have opportunities to collaborate with faculty and students in the Law School’s other clinics, including clinics focusing on criminal defense, mediation, tax, and intellectual property.  The fellow will also have the opportunity to work on scholarship and pursue other learning goals.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Candidates should have a J.D. degree and at least three years of experience as a practicing lawyer or equivalent experience; strong written and oral communication skills; an interest in and aptitude for supervision and teaching; a demonstrated commitment to public interest or pro bono legal work; and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently. 

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Prior experience in the field of immigration or refugee law.

    APPOINTMENT TERMS

    This is a 3-year, end-date appointment, subject to annual review.  This is a non-tenure track position, on an 11-month basis.  Salary is $60,000 - 65,000, depending upon experience and qualifications.  Benefits include health insurance, retirement annuities and research support.

    The University of Michigan Law Clinical Fellows Program seeks applicants for a fellowship in its Veterans Legal Clinic. This is a two-year appointment with a possibility of extension for a third year.

    The Clinical Fellows Program is designed to allow attorneys to explore the possibility of a career in clinical teaching and fully support them in that endeavor. Michigan Clinical Fellows gain valuable experience and mentoring in clinical pedagogy and in their substantive area of practice. Their duties include clinical teaching and student supervision in conjunction with a clinic director, and participation in the operation and development of the clinic in which they teach. Support is provided for personal and professional development and scholarship.

    The Veterans Legal Clinic (VLC) handles legal matters for veterans and, in some instances, their immediate families, in a broad array of civil legal matters. These matters include, but are not limited to, housing law, family law, consumer disputes, financial exploitation, veterans and public benefits, and military discharge upgrades to clients.

    The successful applicant will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in civil litigation, a strong interest in clinical teaching, a demonstrated commitment to public interest lawyering, and potential for scholarship and success as a clinical teacher. Experience with the veterans community and/or issues is a plus. Candidates must hold a J.D. degree and be eligible for licensure in Michigan.     The Samuelson Clinic was the first, and is today the leading, program established at an American law school to provide clinical training for students in cases and other projects involving public interest issues raised in new technology controversies. The Clinic represents consumers and nonprofit groups in intellectual property, communications policy, Internet free speech, and information privacy and security matters. The Clinic, which promotes a public interest law and technology practice, is affiliated with the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology.

    The Associate Director works with the Director to plan, develop and manage the Clinic, conducts academic and policy research, and fulfills service as a member of the full-time faculty. In consultation with the Director and Clinic Fellows, the Associate Director is responsible for building a docket of cases and public policy projects for the Clinic. He or she supervises students as they file friend-of-the-court briefs; proposes and comments on proposed legislation or regulations; develops policy white papers; counsels clients; and provides legal assistance in lawsuits that raise important issues relating to law and technology. The Associate Director also co-teaches a seminar in conjunction with the Clinic, and is responsible for co-supervising any Fellows who are working with students enrolled in the Clinic.

    Candidates must have excellent academic credentials, substantial teaching or practice experience, administrative ability, and a strong background in intellectual property and technology law. The candidate should also have demonstrated potential for research and writing on law, policy, or the profession, and for teaching, supervising, and mentoring law students as they transition to their role as lawyers. Admission to the California Bar, or willingness to become a member promptly, is essential. The Associate Director will join the Berkeley Law faculty as a full-time Assistant Clinical Professor of Law with the potential of promotion to Clinical Professor of Law. Salary is commensurate with experience.

    Minimum Qualifications Required (at time of application): Applicants must hold a J.D.

    degree or its equivalent degree, and be admitted to practice law in at least one state (California Bar not required, but must be willing to apply for admission).
