    The University of Alabama is seeking applicants for the position of Director for it Criminal Defense Clinic. The Director will oversee and/or conduct all phases of legal advocacy for clinic clients, teach and supervise law clinic students, and manage other law clinic staff. The position will be a clinical track appointment. Although a non-tenure earning position, the clinical track offers renewable long-term contracts.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications include a J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school, a distinguished academic record, and experience as a clinical teacher or practicing lawyer. Candidates must either be licensed to practice law in Alabama or become licensed no later than one year after accepting the position. Preference will be given to applicants with significant experience with criminal law matters. 

    SALARY AND RANK: Salary and faculty title within the clinic track will be commensurate with experience.

The person selected will teach our existing Entrepreneurial and Non-Profit Clinic, along with a related business law course, and oversee the development of transactional legal clinics in surrounding underserved communities with institutional partners. The focus of these clinics will depend on legal services gaps that have significant economic impact.

    The University of New Mexico School of Law invites applications for faculty positions in its Clinical Law Program, starting in the Fall of 2012. The School of Law's Clinical Law Program is widely regarded to be among the finest in the country. The Law School anticipates filling two tenured or tenure-track positions. Both entry-level and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply. Academic rank and salary will be based on experience and qualifications.

    Any position in the Clinical Law Program would involve teaching in at least one clinic. The Clinical Law Program operates as a single law firm with five clinical sections each semester with varying coverage areas. These areas currently include a Community Lawyering Clinic that takes a community-based approach to client representation and has developed a Medical/Legal Alliance with the UNM School of Medicine, an economic development clinic known as the Business and Tax Clinic that offers clients transactional and controversy services, a Law Practice Clinic that takes a mix of cases typical of a general poverty law practice, and the Southwest Indian Law Clinic that provides students the opportunity to represent clients in cases involving Native American issues in various tribal, state and federal tribunals and agencies, as well as an opportunity to work with tribes, pueblos, community and non-governmental groups.
